Ms. Gutierrez was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1981 with a major in Business with a Finance concentration. She received her law degree from the University Of New Mexico School Of Law in 1986. She is a member of the Employment/Labor Section of the New Mexico State Bar. She enjoys jogging, weight lifting, being a spectator at her children’s athletic events and being scorekeeper for her children’s basketball games.

Ms. Gutierrez’s employment law practice includes representing employers in connection with Title VII discrimination charges, Unemployment claims and wrongful termination and discrimination lawsuits. Ms. Gutierrez also represents employers in drafting a wide range of employment documents including employee handbooks, specific policy and procedures (Internet, Violence in the workplace, On-Call), separation agreements and confidentiality agreements.


Ms. Gutierrez represents federally-chartered and state chartered banks, as well as their holding companies and affiliates. Her representation includes litigation dealing with Uniform Commercial Code Article 4 issues, wrongful foreclosure, to mortgage and bank foreclosures. Ms. Gutierrez was previously on the Board of Directors of a National Bank and, therefore, obtained invaluable knowledge and experience of the operations of a bank and its interfacing with federal regulators.


Ms. Gutierrez handles both litigation and transactions involving real estate. Her experience is in a wide variety of real estate transactions, including drafting commercial leases for full service office to warehouse properties. She has represented buyers, sellers and investors in the purchase and sale of residential and commercial property.
Ms. Gutierrez has experience in negotiating and drafting all of the documents necessary for the above transactions, including purchase agreements, promissory notes, mortgages, deeds, grants of easements, covenants and restrictions, asset purchase agreements, security agreements and financing statements.


Ms. Gutierrez has litigation experience representing clients in various areas of law including :

• Lease disputes


Ms. Gutierrez currently is the President of the Bosque Parent Association. She was on the Board of Trustees for Manzano Day School from 2001 to 2008. She was on the City of Albuquerque Personnel Board from 1995 to 1998. She was a Trustee of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe Catholic Foundation from 1992 to 1996. She was Chairman of the Business Law Section for the State Bar of New Mexico 1993-1994. She was on the City of Albuquerque Airport Advisory Board from 1989 to 1995. She was a charter member of the American Inn of Court from 1990 to 1992.
