Mark A. Glenn joined the firm in 1989 after graduating with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law. Before entering law school, Mr. Glenn was a daily newspaper reporter for six years. He has utilized his writing experience in various areas of practice, including commercial litigation, real estate, employment, construction and personal injury law. He is a former member and chair of the State of New Mexico Board of Editors. He is a former board member and President of a non-profit corporation, Albuquerque Speech, Language and Hearing Center. Born in 1958 in Jefferson, Iowa; admitted to bar, 1989, New Mexico; U.S. District Court, District of New Mexico; 1999, Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Education: Drake University (B.A. 1980); University of Iowa (J.D., with distinction, 1989).
Mr. Glenn handles litigation and transactions involving real estate. His experience in real estate transactions, includes:
• The purchase and sale of residential property
• The purchase and sale of commercial property
• Residential and commercial leases
• Advising homeowner's associations and residents whose homes are subject to homeowner's association governance in disputes
Mr. Glenn has experience in negotiating and drafting all of the documents necessary for these transactions, including purchase agreements, promissory notes, mortgages, deeds, grants of easements, covenants and restrictions, leases, asset purchase agreements, security agreements, financing statements, and reviewing title documentation.

• Retention of contractor’s equipment and tools

• Lien priority disputes

•Representation of homeowners, contractors, and a home inspection company on various construction-related claims, including failure to disclose defects and claims for shoddy or defective construction
Mr. Glenn also practices employment law, primarily representing employers and their interests. That representation includes:
• Advising clients on issues related to termination, wages, trade secrets, and terms of employment
• Assisting employers in responding to charges filed with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the New Mexico Human Rights Division
• Litigation of employment claims based on sex, age, disability, and national origin in state and federal court
• Drafting and reviewing employment handbooks and manuals for numerous local businesses
• Familiarity with state and federal laws governing hiring and firing of employees, sexual harassment, disability, age discrimination, overtime and wages.
• Conducting numerous seminars on a variety of employment topics for clients or prospective clients
• Responding to former employees’ unemployment claims
Mr. Glenn has litigation experience in various areas of law including:

Mr. Glenn has experience preparing documents necessary in the formation of profit and nonprofit corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships. He also has assisted business clients in reviewing and drafting contracts for use in their operations.
Mr. Glenn has experience preparing simple wills, durable powers of attorney, and healthcare directives. He also has experience in probate actions with and without a will in district court and probate court.
Mr. Glenn has represented plaintiffs and defendants in various personal injury matters, including wrongful death claims. His litigation experience includes:
