Nathan C. Sprague

Mr. Sprague joined the Firm in 2001 as a new associate and became a shareholder in the firm in 2007. After completing an undergraduate degree in History from Brigham Young University in 1998, Mr. Sprague attended Washburn University School of Law (Topeka, Kansas) where he graduated with Dean's Honors in May 2001. While attending law school, Mr. Sprague was a published author and member of the Washburn Law Journal. He was also one of the top finishers in Washburn Law School's annual Jurcyk-Royle Oral Advocacy competition. In his spare time, Mr. Sprague enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and six children, playing golf and anything baseball.

REAL ESTATE

• Mortgages, Deeds of Trust and Foreclosures – Mr. Sprague represents a number of lenders, individual and institutional, local and regional, in drafting as well as enforcing mortgages and deeds of trust and prosecuting foreclosure litigation for creditors.

• Commercial and Residential Real Estate – Mr. Sprague is experienced in handling an array of commercial and real estate matters including drafting and reviewing documents in behalf of buyers and sellers and litigating small and large real estate disputes.

ESTATE PLANNING AND PROBATE

Mr. Sprague drafts wills, living trusts, financial and medical powers of attorney for individuals, as well as preparing non-probate transfer documents and represents personal representatives in state court probate proceedings.

COLLECTIONS

Mr. Sprague handles individual and commercial collection for local, regional and national creditors for all types of secured and unsecured debts.

TITLE INSURANCE

Mr. Sprague works with a number of title insurance companies in litigating and defending title claims involving disputed lien priorities, fraudulent conveyances, and title issues arising in bankruptcy.

BANKING/FINANCE

Mr. Sprague prepares business loan agreements, security agreements, and Uniform Commercial Code filings, and a variety of security instruments for lenders as well as acting as New Mexico counsel and providing legal opinions on the enforceability of loan documents.

BANKRUPTCY (CREDITOR'S RIGHTS)

Mr. Sprague counsels and represents creditors in a variety of individual and business bankruptcy cases, large and small, filed under Chapters 7, 11 and 13.
