The Appellate law practice group assists clients by guiding them through the appeals process when they are dissatisfied with a determination handed down by a lower court. The attorneys in this practice group identify valid legal theories and issues and explain in an initial docketing statement why a client’s issues require close appellate review. When a case requires expansive legal briefing, the group’s attorneys use their superlative research, analysis, and writing skills to draft effective briefing for consideration by New Mexico appellate judges. The practice group has attorneys with experience working behind the scenes for the New Mexico Court of Appeals, and accordingly, has intimate knowledge of the process, required procedure, and standards of review required by the appellate courts. This group’s attorneys are not only effective writers, but they are also skilled oral advocates who are prepared to present a productive oral argument before the Court in support of a client’s case.
